Anya Taylor-Joy Captures Old Hollywood Glam on the Croisette at Cannes

Anya Taylor-Joy won't be playing the "method dressing" card for this year's Cannes Film Festival. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga star stepped out onto the Croisette Saturday a long way from her post-apocalyptic persona, trading in for a dazzling Old Hollywood-inspired look that looked like it was born to be there.
For the premiere of her film, Taylor-Joy fully embraced the glamour of Cannes, drawing a clear line between herself and the intense role she played. (In an interview with The New York Times, she admitted, “I’ve never been more alone than making that movie.”)
Her dress? Champagne Dior haute couture, strapless corseted bodice, and enormous tulle supported confection of a skirt. It is said to have taken 1,200 hours of embroidery and 850 hours of painstaking construction to produce.
So Taylor-Joy is well accessorized for the ensemble. She's wearing exceptional Tiffany & Co. high jewelry including a sculptural platinum necklace set with 68 carats of diamonds, white gold studs carrying a total of 17 carats and rings weighing in at 15 and five carats each.
The dress itself holds a rich history: its inspiration is drawn from the fabulous "Mexico" dress in Christian Dior's Fall 1957 collection. That original design was famously photographed by Richard Avedon on Carmen Dell'Orefice, making Taylor-Joy's look a true homage to timeless couture.

Taylor-Joy complemented her ensemble with old-school glamour that yelled sophistication. She had her hair styled up, where it spoke of elegance, and the deep red lipstick matched perfectly against the champagne dress and sparkling diamonds.
This wasn’t her only standout moment at Cannes. In recent days, Taylor-Joy has been treating the festival like her personal runway, wowing with oversized sun hats and even reimagined Jacquemus bridal wear. She’s making a compelling case for the full-on return of Old Hollywood glamour, and we’re so here for it.
Now, Anya Taylor-Joy is proving that Cannes is not just the grandest celebration of film but also the ultimate stage for unforgettable style.
